well, I visited almost 50 district of Nepal about my official work.some time I get trouble with my cast.somebody ask me what is the real cast of thakuri? in that time I can't answer coz really we don't know our real cast.we proud to be a thakuri but thakuri is not a bhramhan,not a chhettri & not a shuddra.some body said it's a cast of muslim,somebody said indian coz they has also cast shah,khand,shing.so, I don;t think anybody know what is the real cast of thakuri????????????????

In my opinion, Thakuri is not the cast but group or an ethnicity within Chetri. 12 different casts(to my knowledge)come under this catagory. They actually used to be the rulers in past at different places of South Asia.Therefore we have to search cast withinn Thakuri not for Thakuri.

ya you are right thakuri is a title for the ruler in the past not a cast those ruler are from 22 & 24 rajya ruler of 22 rajaya are from khas back ground and 24 are from khas,magar.votes even they are from different background they are now catagorized into title thakuri/cheetri ane they follow khas culture ,khas vasa(nepali vasa) except mama-fufu chela marriage is frm votes in some thakuri .....khas rulez
